Work Your Way is our new blog series in which individuals give their honest answers about how they like to work when working remotely. From how to create a work culture when working remotely to how they best like to work remotely, they share their insights and top tips.
Idriz Adedoja, Financial Controller at Vizlib shares with us his thoughts on remote working and Vizlib's value of 'sharing openly'. Vizlib builds powerful value-added products for Qlik Sense.
What is the biggest advantage to the company of working remotely?
Employee happiness and comfortability. At Vizlib, our employees are our most valuable asset. As a tech company, WFH is normal for us, however, Covid-19 introduced a different dynamic, which meant we had to make sure everyone has what they need to WFH effectively and efficiently.
Remote-Friendly or Remote-First?
We are remote-friendly certainly with employees all over the world. Even though inter-office travelling has been very limited this year, we still check up on everyone to make sure everyone has what they need.
How do you keep remote work visible?
We use slack to communicate, have meetings once or twice a week, depending on the teams. However, every team has their own ways of tracking work in progress. It is about the trust we placed in our colleagues to carry out their duties without miro-managing them.
How do you maintain and create a company culture when working remotely?
One of our values is 'sharing openly'. That means the freedom to share your concerns and knowledge. Also the continuous improvement of our processes and benchmarking against the best.
Where is your favourite place to work from when working remotely?
At the moment it is at home, at my dining table. If I am abroad or travelling then it is in a coffee shop or lounge.
A big thank you to Idriz for his insightful answers. Make sure you check out Vizlib.
